It makes it easy to find the right proportions.

If you are sketching a home, it is a good idea to use the actual house as your reference. A photo of your home can be used as an inspiration if you don’t have a house model. Once you have a basic outline of your house, you can start adding colors and details. Start with the main sections of the house and leave the smaller ones out. You will soon be able add more details to your drawing once you're comfortable with the process.

Drawing the basic outline can be done by eyeballing the major forms. Based on their relationship objects, check the symmetry and make an estimate of their sizes. It allows you to change the scale

SketchUp allows you two options: either use a pre-existing scale or create your own. There are many scale options available, including fractional, architectural, and metric. You don't need to redo any parts of your drawing to change the scale. To undo the change, you can use Remove Scale. The default length and width units of measurement are Decimal (Engineering), and Fractional. You can also set custom scales in the Set Rulers & Grids dialog.

There is an option for Scale ratio in the Precision menu beside Measure. In the Scale field, enter the actual-world measurement of the object to change the scale. Once you've done this, you can then draw a line with the length of the measurement in real life. In some cases, this means you can use a real-world measurement to scale the imported plan.

How to Replace a Broken Window?

The most common home improvement task is to replace broken windows. The job involves repairing the damage done to the glass in your home. Repair work in this instance should take no more than 30 minutes. However, if you are not familiar with how to replace broken panes of glass, you may cause further damage to the home. This article provides some tips on replacing a broken window.

First step: Take the glass out of its frame

To remove the old glass, you must first lift out the screws holding the windowpane in place. Then undo the lock at the top center of the bottom section of the window frame. Next, raise the window so it isn't attached to the sillplate (the metal strip below the floor). The last step is to gently loosen all remaining screws with a tool. After the panes have been removed, you should clean them thoroughly.

Step 2: Clean the new glasses

Use a dry cloth or paper towel to wipe away any dirt from the surface of the glass. You can clean the glass with a spray bottle containing water and rubbing alcohol if there is any debris underneath.

Third Step: Reinstall the replacement glass

Then, attach the window panes back into the frames. Start by pushing down on the lower edge of the outermost pane with the tip of a screwdriver. Gently push your pane back into its opening. Next, insert the next pane by pressing it against the first pane. Continue to insert the panes until you have assembled the whole window. You can seal the gap between the panes with a silicone caulk gun.

Fourth Step: Repair the area damaged

If you are installing new glass, be sure to inspect the area where the break occurred. This will help determine if further repairs are necessary. Two small pieces of wood should be placed along the edges of each hole if the crack is near the corner. These wooden blocks will add strength to the window while also acting as spacers to keep the glass in place during the expansion and contraction of the weatherproofing material.

Fiveth step: Seal the repair area

Apply silicone caulking around the edges of the frame after the glass has been replaced. This will create a strong seal between glass and surrounding wallboard. Silicone caulking can be purchased at hardware stores and online. You should choose a color to match the wall paint.

Let the caulking dry overnight. Once the caulking is fully set, don't disturb it. If you don't wait long enough, you could cause the caulking to crack when you remove it.
